Water is too hot? Here’s what to do.

If the water that is coming out from your water heater is too hot, the thermostat is set too high. The temperature control must be double-checked to make sure that the temperature is within an acceptable level.

The water heater interface controls the temperature of the water in the heater. The Rheem water heaters are set at 120°F (49°C) by default before it leaves the factory.  This is to comply with safety regulations.
