How loud is the heat pump?

Rheem publishes their decibel ratings less than 50 decibels, however, in our tests we’ve seen this vary from home to home likely depending on the acoustics of the location the water heater is installed.  In our limited testing we’ve experienced up to 63 decibels when the heat pump using the Decibel X:dB Sound Level Meter on an iPhone.  If you are concerned with the noise that the heat pump makes when in operation we highly encourage you to run your own tests of various appliances and/or different white noise levels.
